Schreiber Foods is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineering student to join the team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mechanical design, manufacturing workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives.
For this position, you will work onsite at our home office in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Start date is flexible, however we would like the selected candidate to start in the spring 2025 semester. Interns will be asked to work 15-20 hours a week during the semester, and 40 hours a week during the summer break.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update and create mechanical drawings by referencing existing AutoCAD 2D designs and efficiently utilizing 3D CAD solid modeling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement efficient manufacturing workflows.
- Support the technical team in developing design improvements.
- Update designs to correct any known issues post-build/commissioning.
- Focus on continuous improvement initiatives across various operations.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, with sophomore-level status or higher.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 10 weeks at 40 hours a week during the summer of 2025.
- Scheduling is flexible during the semester, and we ask that you work 15-20 hours a week.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Interest in pursuing a full-time career in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
- Ability to take ownership of assignments and complete them accurately and on time.
- Desire to grow and take on new opportunities.
- Reliable transportation.
