THE OPPORTUNITY: 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Litigation Associate with 3-6 years of complex commercial litigation experience to join our Chicago office. Learn more about our Litigation department here:  Commercial Litigation | Seyfarth Shaw LLP

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

As part of the Commercial Litigation Team, you'll have the opportunity to work on interesting, challenging, and groundbreaking cases in collaboration with senior attorneys. 

YOU HAVE:

• 3-6 years of complex commercial litigation experience in a law firm;
• Experience preparing discovery requests, pleadings and contested motions (such as complaints, motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, applications for temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunction).
• Experience taking and defending depositions, experience working with experts a plus but not required.
• Strong legal research as well as analytical and verbal communication skills.
• Stellar writing ability and excellent academic credentials; as writing ability is critical for this position, we ask that you submit two writing samples with your application; Writing samples should be reflective of our own work product and not substantially collaborative efforts; and
• Admitted to the Illinois bar or meet the requirements to waive in.

The salary range for this role is $260,000 to $350,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
