Cardiology – Non-invasive Imaging Opportunity – Southeastern Massachusetts – less than 30 minutes from Providence, Rhode Island and less than 1 hour from Boston, Massachusetts

Position Overview

Southcoast Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate cardiologist to join our esteemed Heart & Vascular Center consisting of 26 Physicians supported by 24 Advanced Practice Practitioners.  The successful candidate will contribute to our tradition of practice excellence and play a pivotal role in advancing patient care in our community.

The Heart and Vascular Center at Southcoast Health provides advanced, tertiary level cardiac care at the systems main hospital in Southeastern MA. High-end imaging, catheterization, structural, electrophysiology and surgical services are all provided with a Heart Team approach in an ideal sized hospital setting. On top of our dedicated general cardiologists, there are multiple advanced subspecialists and surgeons within the division, as well as a robust Advanced Practice Practitioner service. We are focused on recruiting a non-invasive cardiologist to enhance our growing programs.

  • Busiest STEMI center in the region
    • Over 2,000 diagnostic catheterizations, and 800 interventions per year
    • High Risk PCI with Impella support, Laser and shock wave therapy
  • Advanced Electrophysiology Program
    • >700 Ablations per year (SVT, AFIB, VT, Convergent AF)
    • >500 device per year (Pacemakers, ICD, CRT, leadless, Subq ICD)
    • Laser lead extractions
  • Advanced Structural Heart Program
    • >200 TAVRs/year, >100 Watchman/year
    • Other advanced structural procedures including mitral clip, PFO and ASD closure and alcohol septal ablation
    • State of the art Hybrid OR with integrated imaging systems
  • Advanced Cardiac & Vascular Surgical Programs
    • >350 cardiac surgical procedures annually including coronary revascularization, valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, mechanical circulatory support, ECMO.
    • EVAR/TEVAR, carotid stenting/TCAR, high volume peripheral interventions, DVT/PE thrombectomy
  • State-of-the-art Imaging Services
    • Full Echo services including 3D with a dedicated Structural Heart imaging team
    • Full Nuclear services including PYP scans
    • Coronary and cardiac CTA, Cardiac MRI
  • Research and Teaching
    • Currently participating in multiple research trials and providing medical student and APP rotations

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of US Residency & Fellowship
  • Board certified or board eligible in Cardiology & Echocardiography required
  • Nuclear Cardiology boards optional
  • Current state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Demonstrated clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and effective communication skills
