The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. Responsibilities The Subsea and Seabed Warfare (SSW) Integration and Interoperability Analyst will support the AUKUS SSW office, which supports the Commander, Submarine Force Atlantic (COMSUBLANT) AUKUS Director to establish SSW portion of the Undersea Hybrid Fleet and provide US contribution to AUKUS SSW and the Undersea Warfare Working Group (USW) Warfare Working Group (WG). Duties will include: The Subsea and Seabed Warfare (SSW) Plans and Operations Analyst will provide support in managing relationships with Subsea Warfare (SSW) stakeholders across the U.S. and AUKUS communities, maintaining critical access to subject matter experts (SMEs), institutional knowledge, and strategic influence. Identifying and tracking key stakeholder activities, events, and points of contact to ensure comprehensive engagement and information sharing. The analyst will support event participation prioritization, assist in managing perceptions of responsiveness and collaboration, and maintain stakeholder-facing repositories with relevant classified and unclassified materials. Additionally, the analyst plays a vital role in shaping and sustaining a competitive SSW deterrent posture by analyzing strategic guidance, joint operational needs, intelligence assessments, and stakeholder inputs to identify capability gaps and inform recommendations on doctrine, requirements, and resource allocation. The analyst will support concept development, acquisition program alignment, force structure planning, and performance evaluations of emerging and fielded capabilities. Also help establish a robust data architecture to support C3, autonomy, and mission planning across the undersea domain. Ongoing responsibilities include monitoring and educating the SSW stakeholder community on evolving concepts, technologies, and strategic priorities, as well as supporting metrics development and perception management to drive shared understanding and continuous improvement of SSW capabilities at scale. This position is located in Norfolk, VA. There will be some opportunity to travel to partner and industry stakeholder locations. There is an opportunity for possible light telework. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred 10-20+ years professional experience Proficiency in Navy and/or Joint planning and mission engineering processes Ability to communicate task and project status to supervisors and the Government client at the O-5/6/GS-14/15 level effectively including creating verbal and written communication products Robotic autonomous systems experience preferred Strong administrative, organizational, and analytical skills and the willingness to learn and build relationships with stakeholders Demonstrated strength in analysis and problem solving, paired with meticulous attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications Current DoD TOP SECRET clearance with the ability to maintain it throughout employment Desired Qualifications: Experience with US Navy submarine operations, certification, and maintenance Experience supporting a NAVSEA acquisition program office. Experience/knowledge of Navy acquisition program office organizations and processes Experience with Team Submarine Experience working with international partners Experience in a DoD/client-facing environment Experience in planning or mission engineering within domains such as submarine or anti-submarine warfare, undersea surveillance, naval special warfare, or related commercial sectors
