The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues. Group W provides wargaming, warfare modeling and simulation, software development, data analytics, and operations research/system analysis support to the national security mission. As a leader in the fields of campaign, mission, and wargaming analysis we embrace the cycle of research paradigm, continually seeking to improve the multi-method application of tools, data, methods, and techniques to generate credible and resilient insights to inform decisions on the Department's most challenging issues spanning CONOPs, acquisitions, force structures, tactics, and strategies. Group W is the developer and maintainer of the Synthetic Theater Operations Research Model (STORM), the authoritative M&S tool accepted by the Joint Analytic Community for analysis of theater-level, multi-domain, joint warfare. Similarly, we developed and manage the Standard Wargame Integration and Facilitation Tool (SWIFT) for OSW as an adaptable environment to support joint force combatants' wargaming requirements. We have an immediate need for a Campaign Analyst to provide onsite support out of Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Responsibilities SPA seeks a passionate and versatile Campaign Analyst to work with a high-performing team of Operations Research Analysts and Systems Administrators. Will be responsible for developing and executing analytical models and methods that support warfighting analyses at the engagement level and will support pre- and post-wargame analysis using STORM. Will apply skills to solve highly complex problems using statistical analysis, parametric and non-parametric analysis, computer modeling, simulation, and regression analysis. The Analyst will advise other operations research analysts, scientists, or engineers on techniques best suited for tasked problems. Will work both independently and collaboratively on assessments supporting OPLAN, CONPLAN, capability trades, systems trades, force structure, and service-specific studies. The Analyst will apply analytic expertise to create, present, and publish study reports and briefings. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. 3+ years of experience including experience with Python or other Object-Oriented Programming U.S. Citizen with active DoD TS/SCI clearance Able to work fully onsite based on client needs Desired: Experience performing constructive modeling and analysis using STORM or other models such as AFSIM, EADSIM, AMP/MIDAS, or JFAST Prior military experience or analysis conducted at the theater or joint task force level conducting planning or performing operational assessments Familiarity with theater OPLANs and/or Defense Planning Scenarios Experience operating Unix/Linux operating systems Experience with JMP, R, SQL, VBA, Python, C#, Perl, MATLAB and/or C++ Experience with Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) Warfare analysis experience Expertise in a variety of mathematical, statistical, and computer science areas
