The Strategic Systems Analysis Group provides life cycle program support for US Navy Strategic Systems Programs, US Navy acquisition Program Executive Offices, National Nuclear Security Administration, and the other Defense Department agencies. Specific areas of support include leadership and management organizational support, risk management, strategic communication, and high consequence events prevention. SSAG also provides defense strategy and policy development and implementation support. SPA has a near term need for a High Consequence Events Prevention Program Analyst Intern to work in Alexandria, VA. Applications can be submitted through 9 January 2026. Applications will be reviewed through 16 January 2026. Phone Interviews will be conducted through 6 February 2026. Decisions (offers) will be extended starting 13 February 2026. Responsibilities Principal responsibility is to assist in guiding organizational development activities for SSP and other clients leveraging and building on the High Consequence Event Prevention Framework, a vehicle for strengthening and sustaining culture in organizations engaged in complex system activities. Secondary responsibility will be to support other high reliability organization consulting and development activities. Additional assignments focused on other SPA projects to leverage relevant experience and capabilities. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Must be able to work in Alexandria, Virginia at SPA HQ. Master's student in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field. Ability to understand the human component in complex systems and the ability to analyze risks and decision making using a novel framework. Ability to perform objective analysis integrating disparate qualitative and quantitative data to develop actionable information. Excellent skills with standard Microsoft Office products and excellent verbal and written communication skills. US Citizenship required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance Desired Qualifications: 1-3 years or more experience in support of commercial or government industrial entity engaged in complex system development, manufacture, or operation. Knowledge of human factors and interest in how people make decisions. Proficiency in R, Python, and Visual Basic (VBA). Data visualization experience. Experience facilitating seminars, meetings, or classes.
