The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. #MC Responsibilities The Senior Analyst will provide support as a requirements SME to the Team Submarine SSN(X) Program Office (PMS 351), responsible for defining, documenting, and managing the operational and technical requirements for the SSN(X) program. The support role would require the senior analyst to be seated at OPNAV N97 spaces at the Pentagon, acting as a representative to PMS351. Responsibilities are described below: Requirements Officer support for the New Attack Submarine (SSN(X)) program Day-to-day Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) responsibilities for SSN(X) Day-to-day coordination with SSN(X) program office (PMS 351) on all matters Coordinate with technical, Fleet, and OPNAV stakeholders for requirements generation Coordinate post-JCIDS acquisition milestones (AoA completion, Gate reviews, etc.) for SSN(X) within OPNAV, CAPE, and the Joint Staff Future SSN Capabilities Lead Coordinate with N972A (VIRGINIA Class Acquisition) for future VCS Block capabilities development; ensure alignment with SSN(X) and overall future capabilities development and supporting research & development efforts. Coordinate future shipbuilding plan inputs to optimize and align fielding future capabilities with shipbuilding resource constraints. Future Studies Lead: Coordinate with N81, CAPE, DONSAPCO, FFRDCs (e.g. JHU APL, CNA, etc.), and other external organizations (e.g. SPA, etc.) for analytical studies and other work in support of future capabilities development. SSN(X) Senior Steering Group (SSSG) Lead Coordinate with SSSG members for agenda items, action items, and long-term alignment of SSSG support to N97 and Undersea Warfare enterprise objectives Elite Constellation (EC) Co-Lead with N974 (lead should be shifting fully to N974, with N972 in supporting role) N97 is designated OPR for EC Essential Element (EE) 19 (details higher classification) Requires routine coordination with Joint Staff J7, Fleet, TYCOM, and other stakeholders; development and submission of semi-annual reports to JS J7 This position is located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA with potential for light telework. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in technical field 10+ years of undersea warfare experience Familiarity with undersea warfare/submarine requirements generation Familiarity with submarine future capabilities Familiarity with Team Submarine acquisition program offices Active DoD TOP SECRET security clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment
