The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues. The DARPA Support Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future. We have an immediate need for a Technical SETA to provide full-time onsite support out of Arlington, VA. Responsibilities We are seeking a Technical SETA with a background in financial intelligence, capital markets, and/or financial payment systems to support DARPA. The Technical SETA role will support a new program and other classified/unclassified efforts in a diverse DARPA STO portfolio. The candidate will serve as a subject-matter expert on matters related to financial intelligence. To keep up with a fast-moving portfolio, DARPA seeks a candidate who excels under pressure, seeks continuous challenges, and delivers results through direct action rather than excessive deliberation. Qualifications Required: PhD in Economic, Mathematics, or a related field U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance 2+ years of experience Ability to be flexible and juggle multiple projects and deadlines with minimal oversight Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Able to work fully onsite in Arlington, VA based on client needs Desired: Mission-oriented, energetic self-starter Proficiency, patience, and persistence navigating bureaucracy Knowledge of Department of Defense, intelligence community, and/or Department of Treasury efforts to leverage economic and financial data and analytics for operational purposes, to include promise and limitations of existing efforts Strong organization and project management skills Excellent written and oral communication skills; craft narratives via PowerPoint slides
