The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, moving, storing, and staging materials within the warehouse and production areas. This role supports supply chain and production operations by accurately handling materials, maintaining organized storage locations, and assisting with inventory tracking and material flow. The position may utilize material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts, or similar equipment, in accordance with training and safety requirements. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. The role reports to a supervisor or manager.

 

What You Will Do:


· Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality

· Store parts and materials in designated locations and maintain proper labeling

· Issue and distribute parts to technicians as requested

· Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with regular cycle counts

· Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.

· Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.

· Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.

· Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.

· Sort cargo before loading and unloading.

· Track stock levels, report shortages, and assist with reorder requests

· Ensure stockroom is organized, safe, and compliant with company standards

· Assist with kitting, staging, and material handling for production needs

· Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment as needed

· Support continuous improvement efforts in inventory control and material flow

· Support Open-Book Management principles by maintaining accurate and transparent data.

· Employees may perform other related duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. The frequency and duration of the duties described may vary based on production needs, equipment condition, and workflow requirements.

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of relevant inventory, warehouse, supply chain experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form with employees, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and use of inventory or ERP systems
  • Forklift certification required OR the ability to obtain certification within a specified training period

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all QMS (Quality Management System) guidelines and regulations are followed
  • All employees are required to follow and promote all company and regulatory safety and environmental standards and exhibit safe work practices at all times
  • Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): Safety Toe Shoes, Safety Glasses, etc. required at all times in warehouse environment
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and continuous quality improvement objectives
  • Actively participate in and support the principles of Open-Book Management
  • Possess a positive attitude and promote a positive work environment

 

Work Environment:


Work is performed primarily in a warehouse or controlled industrial environment. The role may involve occasional exposure to dust, noise, fumes, and temperature variations for limited periods. Employees must comply with Hazard Communication (HazCom) requirements and all applicable safety standards. Required personal protective equipment may include safety-toe footwear, safety glasses, and other PPE as designated.

 

Physical Demands:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods, with occasional sitting. The employee may occasionally lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds. The role requires frequent use of hands and arms for handling materials and operating equipment; reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and maintaining balance; and clear verbal communication. These requirements are representative of the physical demands of the position.
