SS&C is the largest global investor service provider, servicing more than 55 million investors. Continually investing in global technology and services across the spectrum of distribution channels including: Asset Managers, Financial Advisors, Wealth Managers and large financial institutions such as Banks and Insurers. Investor servicing is offered in many different countries, including the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Luxembourg, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore. SS&C also services mutual fund structures in many other fund domiciles.
Global Investor and Distribution Solutions (GIDS) is the business unit offering this role. GIDS delivers global omni-channel investor servicing, including contact centre, using digital services.

About the Role
Opportunity for an Actuarial Software Developer to join a specialist Actuarial Software Development team for our highly regarded calculations and illustrations software.
The role combines the analytical skills of an Actuary with the coding skills of a software developer.
The role requires a good understanding of actuarial principles and financial modelling combined with excellent communication, planning and relationship management skills.

Your Responsibilities
- Design and maintenance of development methodology and system architecture
- Modelling the full range of pension (money purchase and defined benefit), life assurance and investment products.
- Creating programmable logic from regulations, statutory rules or calculation specification logic
- Testing (Code Peer Reviews and independent testing) & investigating reported errors and discrepancies
- Ensuring business continuity plans in place
- Keep up to date on changes in UK regulation to ensure the software continues to meet Clients needs
- New product ideas, research and development applicable both in the UK and other jurisdictions
- Supporting the wider team in client engagements and owning engagements with allocated industry bodies.
Your Experience
- Qualified Actuary (Desirable) or background in actuarial mathematics.
- Excellent knowledge of UK life and pensions regulation with a good understanding of actuarial principles and financial modelling
- Able to translate a set of requirements to a software solution in precise detail
- Extensive experience in the writing, reviewing and tracing code
- Proven track record of developing efficient and legible code
- Experience using .net, MS Excel and VBA
- Experience of working as part of multi-disciplinary change projects
- Experience being able to manage a complex workload and prioritise to meet project deadlines
