What You Will Get To Do:

This is a critical role within the processing team, focused on investor onboarding for client funds. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and assessing investor applications to ensure all AML/KYC, CRS/FATCA, and DDO requirements are satisfied on behalf of Asset Manager and Custodian clients.

As an AML & Investor Onboarding Officer, the role plays a key part in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial crime risks through Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD) and Transaction Monitoring (TM) activities. Working at the frontline of the organisation's AML/CTF function, the role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting investigations, managing onboarding processes, and contributing to the continuous improvement of operational controls and procedures.

  • Monitor and investigate customer accounts in line with AML/KYC, CRS/FATCA, and DDO requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards

  • Conduct AML/KYC reviews by collecting and validating information from public sources, internal tools, and direct customer engagement

  • Perform Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (ECDD), PEP screening, and sanctions checks to assess financial crime risk

  • Monitor customer transactions to identify unusual or suspicious activity and escalate where required

  • Prepare and submit Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) in accordance with regulatory obligations

  • Identify reportable accounts by determining tax residency and applying CRS/FATCA requirements

  • Apply due diligence procedures aligned with FATCA agreements and CRS regulations

  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation to evidence due diligence outcomes

  • Escalate risks and issues promptly within defined SLA timeframes

  • Act as a first point of contact for account onboarding queries from internal teams and stakeholders

  • Provide SME support to onshore and offshore teams on account setup and KYC-related queries

  • Review and prepare KYC documentation for low, medium, and high-risk customers in response to information requests

  • Manage individual workload allocation and consistently meet daily and monthly productivity targets

  • Maintain accurate updates in workflow systems and reporting trackers

  • Collaborate with risk, compliance, and technology teams to support operational effectiveness

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency enhancements

  • Ensure deliverables are completed in line with agreed client SLAs

  • Support ad hoc projects and enhancements across AML/KYC and CRS/FATCA processes

  • Assist in periodic reviews of procedures and checklists to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all clients

What You Will Bring:

  • Strong knowledge of AML/KYC requirements in line with AUSTRAC AML/CTF guidelines and regulatory expectations

  • Experience working with a range of entity types, including trusts, funds, corporates, and complex ownership structures

  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate findings and requirements

  • Proven ability to meet performance targets in fast-paced, high-pressure operational environments

  • Experience performing peer quality reviews and providing constructive feedback to support team capability and accuracy

  • Strong investigative mindset with the ability to identify issues, analyse risks, and recommend practical solutions

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in AML/KYC due diligence or compliance roles, ideally within financial services or fund services

  • 3+ years' experience in investor onboarding, including CRS/FATCA and DDO requirements within unit registry or transfer agency environments

  • Strong stakeholder management and client engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes effectively

  • Collaborative and proactive approach to working within team-based operational environments

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related discipline, with AML/compliance certifications considered advantageous
