What You Will Get To Do:
The AML Associate Director is a subject matter expert relied upon to assist with escalations, client due diligence, escalations and general queries in support of the fund administration services provided to domestic and offshore hedge fund Clients and private equity fund Clients.
These services include performing anti-money laundering and due diligence checks on clients and funds on SS&C's own behalf. The AML Associate Director reports directly to the AML lead and is expected to be a day to day lead of AML professionals supporting our business.
The AML Associate Director exercises wide-latitude to make decisions within established company policies to meet business objectives. Also advising staff and partners with cross-functional teams to meet project schedules and to develop solutions to issues. You will be accountable for the departments results and establishing procedures and recommendations to changes to policies.
Key Responsibilities
As the SME and team leader, this role will involve:
- Day to day function and management of AML reviews.
- Responsibility for follow ups with clients/stakeholders regarding outstanding AML documentation, Risk Analysis and updating records in order to be able to report effectively
- Working directly with senior stake holders, auditors, MLROs, internal management committees and compliance, regarding client AML compliance.
- Effective filing and archiving of all AML documentation in line with regulation.
- Overseeing and actively participating in the ongoing refresh of AML requirements in line with regulation.
- Assistance with the risk assessment, due diligence and overall implementation of new clients.
- Performing ongoing screening of clients against sanctions lists and appropriate internal and client reporting based on results as well as online sources.
- Preparation for and participation in client operational calls regarding AML and Due Diligence.
- Providing accurate and up to date regulatory knowledge and oversight to assist with the ongoing development of policies and best practises both regionally and as part of a global group.
What You Will Bring:
Candidates are expected to have strong communication, organization, diligence, risk assessment and MS Office abilities with prior experience with:
- Understanding and interpreting AML regulations and obligations, including risk assessment, imposed by globally recognised regulators (for example CBI, CSSF, CIMA and the BMA).
- Experience using screening software for the purpose of dispositioning alerts.
- Client and Fund due diligence and beneficial owner identification and verification.
- Policy and procedure development and related training.
- Full risk assessment and reporting skill set.
- Prior experience performing regulatory reviews with internal and external auditors and regulators.
