Financial Engineer (Validation)

We are seeking a talented individual to join the Financial Model Validation team of SS&C Algorithmics and focus on supporting the model's development and Financial Engineering teams  of our financial risk management solutions.

Reporting to the Manager of Validation, you will participate in exciting financial engineering activities relating to quantitative analysis of Financial Risk Management models. You will be involved in verifying our model implementation to ensure the model's accuracy. You will create the technical document and validation benchmark for model verification and regression testing. You will work together with FE team, Model team, Documentation team and Research team to solve many challenging problems in the areas of Financial Risk Management. Your success will be measured by your ability to become a leader in this process, to effectively combine your creative approach with the discipline required to ensure the quality of the model's development and to effectively communicate with other members of the team.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • verifying our model implementation using independent applications tools (such as using Visual Basic, Matlab, Python, C, C++, etc. whichever tool you are most familiar with.) and knowledge of financial products to guarantee FE specs are correctly implemented and to assure the model accuracy.
  • create technical documents and validation benchmarks for model verification and regression testing.
  • work together with FE team, Model team, Documentation team and Research team to solve many challenging problems in the areas of Financial Risk Management.
  • build High-level knowledge of SS&C's AlgoOne Application.
  • support model development team in understanding model spec.

What You Will Bring:

  • 3+ years'  of experience in the financial services industry covering risk management or related areas.  
  • CFA or FRM certificate and previous experience with Algorithmics Inc. is an asset to this position.
  • Knowledge of Financial Instruments and Modeling Theory, Risk Management, Applied Mathematics, Probability, Statistics, Financial Mathematics, and Optimization.
  • Knowledge and skill in using RiskWatch, ASE and RTCE/IMCR applications.
  • Hands on experience to validate RiskWatch, ASE and RTCE/IMCR products.
  • Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Hands-on programming experience as validation/quantities analysis tools (Python, Matlab or VBA or C or C++) ;
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to formalize and abstract problems.
  • Creativity together with discipline, ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Enthusiasm for learning
