What You Will Get To Do:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst with a strong background in the insurance sector to lead the analysis, design, and delivery of complex business solutions for our clients. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders, technical teams, and project leaders to translate business needs into clear functional solutions that align with strategic objectives and industry best practices.
You will play a key role in facilitating requirements workshops, overseeing the end-to-end requirements lifecycle, and providing subject matter expertise across insurance processes and regulatory considerations. In addition to driving solution design and supporting successful project delivery, you will mentor junior analysts and contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis practices across the organisation.
This role will be hired on a 2-year Fixed Term Contract.
Lead and facilitate stakeholder workshops to elicit, analyse, and document detailed business requirements, translating them into clear functional and non-functional specifications.
Act as a subject matter expert within the insurance domain, providing guidance on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Collaborate with technical teams, architects, and product managers to design and validate solutions that meet both business objectives and technical constraints.
Manage the full requirements lifecycle, including prioritisation, traceability, change management, and support during testing and implementation.
Mentor and support junior Business Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Conduct gap analysis, impact assessments, and feasibility studies for new initiatives, system enhancements, and process improvements.
Develop and present business cases, process flows, data models, and supporting documentation to stakeholders and project teams.
Work closely with project managers to support successful delivery within agreed scope, timelines, and budget.
Identify and mitigate risks related to business analysis activities and solution delivery.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis frameworks, tools, and methodologies across the organisation.
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor's degree in business, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 8 years' experience as a Business Analyst, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity within the insurance industry.
Strong understanding of insurance products, operations, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., life insurance, superannuation, and general insurance).
Proven ability to lead requirements gathering activities, including stakeholder interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience using business analysis tools and techniques such as UML, BPMN, user stories, use cases, JIRA, and Confluence.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments is highly desirable.
Relevant industry certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA are advantageous.
Experience with remediation and developing treatment plans will be advantageous.
Experience leading business analysis with demonstrated leadership capability to guide teams through ambiguity and complex delivery environments.
Ability to collaborate and prioritise client needs while effectively solving problems and working as part of a team.
