Senior Director, Client Relationship Management Transfer Agency

The Senior Director serves as a senior leader within our growing retail alternatives transfer agency business, delivering best-in-class service to a complex and diverse client base. This role is responsible for managing and strengthening existing client relationships, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and driving service excellence to enhance our clients' capital-raising efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the retail alternatives landscape, including product structures and distribution channels, with experience navigating complex client environments. They will play a key role in supporting new business opportunities and delivering innovative, scalable solutions across the client lifecycle.

A solid background in fund administration services—particularly in hedge funds and private markets—is essential, as is a working knowledge of relevant technology platforms and operational workflows. The Senior Director must demonstrate a high level of ownership, strategic thinking, and collaborative engagement across internal stakeholders, including operations, compliance, fund accounting, sales, and technology.

This position requires strong industry experience, excellent relationship management skills, and a results-driven mindset focused on client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and business growth.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Lead and strategically manage high-value relationships with key clients, including asset managers, financial advisors, broker-dealers, and wealth management platforms, to drive satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnership.
  • Provide executive oversight of service delivery for a portfolio of complex client accounts, ensuring alignment with both tactical service expectations and long-term strategic goals.
  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert in retail alternative investments—including interval funds, non-traded REITs, BDCs, closed-end funds, and tender offer funds—guiding clients with insight-driven advice and solutions.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for service-related issues, ensuring that problems are resolved swiftly through cross-functional collaboration and that root causes are addressed proactively.
  • Partner with internal teams (sales, operations, fund accounting, legal/compliance, technology) to influence enterprise-level client service strategies and to support product innovation and client-centric initiatives.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to expand service relationships, increase client engagement, and contribute to revenue growth through upselling or strategic partnership development.
  • Lead and mentor a team of relationship managers and client service professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory developments (SEC, FINRA, state-level) relevant to alternative investments and ensure all client engagements and service models remain compliant.
  • Leverage data analytics and performance metrics to assess service delivery effectiveness, identify trends, and enhance reporting related to investor flows, NAV, and fee structures.
  • Drive operational excellence by refining processes, implementing best practices, and reducing client risk and inefficiency.
  • Actively contribute to business development, representing client service in strategic planning, RFPs, and key client engagements.

What You Will Bring:

Experience & Knowledge:

  • 10+ years of experience in retail alternative investments, with extensive background in fund administration, product distribution, or investor servicing.
  • Deep expertise in managing complex client relationships and delivering service strategies tailored to alternative investment product ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated success working with wirehouses, independent broker-dealers (IBDs), RIAs, and intermediary platforms (e.g., iCapital, CAIS).
  • In-depth knowledge of SEC, FINRA, and relevant state regulations governing retail alternatives and client servicing practices.
  • Proven ability to operate at the intersection of client needs, regulatory frameworks, and operational capabilities.

Leadership & Interpersonal Skills:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing high-performing teams and leading cross-functional initiatives at scale.
  • Executive presence and the ability to influence internal stakeholders and clients at all organizational levels.
  • Track record of building trusted relationships with senior-level decision-makers and managing high-stakes client engagements.

Technical & Analytical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency with fund administration and transfer agency platforms, data reporting systems, and CRM tools.
  • Advanced analytical skills to interpret client data, investor activity, and operational trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and able to work within data visualization/reporting environments.

Salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, business needs, and geographic regions. NY: Salary range for the position: $160,000 USD to $220,000 USD. Colorado: Salary range for the position: $130,000 USD to $210,000 USD.
