Overview

Rutland Family Services Division is seeking an Administrative Services Technician IV to join our team of dedicated staff in supporting children, families, and communities. Our goal is to promote safety, permanency, wellbeing, and law abidance for children in need. Your work will assist Family Services staff achieve this mission. The work we do is meaningful, challenging, and critical to the safety and well-being of Vermont's children and families. The work is fast-paced, and this position is often the first contact that the public has with the local FSD office The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will be flexible, maintain a positive and professional attitude, be proficient in computer programs to include but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe, and enjoy learning new and innovative ways of meeting needs. Other work may include: creating and maintaining processes and systems that enhance efficiency, ordering and coding invoices, taking meeting minutes, managing, and tracking files, answering phones, greeting families and other assigned tasks.

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS:  Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.  In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent and one (1) year of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

OR

One (1) year of College level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field.

OR

One (1) year as an Administrative Services Technician III with the State of Vermont.

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
