As part of the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) Adult Services Division, the Age Strong VT Project Manager will be the state's lead for implementation of Vermont's first multisector plan on aging called Age Strong VT, just launched in 2024.
The position will work closely with staff from DAIL and the Department of Health, the Age Strong VT Steering Committee, and the Implementation Network to successfully perform the following major duties:
- Develop a two-to-three-year project plan for initial implementation,
- Lead and assist implementation of objectives and strategies in the plan,
- Engage a diversity of partners in new and ongoing initiatives,
- Collect, review and analyze relevant data,
- Monitor and evaluate the plan's progress,
- Refresh the plan on a regular basis,
- Seek additional funding for initiatives through grants or contracts,
- Strengthen communications (including newsletter, website, social media, etc.) about Age Strong VT with key stakeholders, and
- Coordinate meeting agendas, meetings, notes and tasks of the Steering Committee and Implementation Network.
Telework is an option, with some in-person meetings required. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Adult Services Division Director. This is a limited-service position, which means it is funded through FFY2026 (September 2026) but may be extended if resources allow. Who May ApplyThis position, Age Strong VT Manager - Limited Service (Job Requisition #51301), is open to all State employees and external applicants. It is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting, with flexibility to work remotely as appropriate.
Minimum QualificationsFour (4) or more years of experience in leadership, project management, program coordination, communications, or aging and disability services plus at least one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership role.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree or higher in the broad field of human services.
Experience as described above with a focus on aging or disability issues.
Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
