Description

Overview

The Vermont Department of Mental Health (DMH) resides under the Agency of Human Services (AHS) and has the same critical mission in mind: to improve the conditions and well-being of Vermonters and protect those who cannot protect themselves. The individuals and families that the Department of Mental Health (DMH) supports in Vermont's communities want the same things we all want; safe homes, close friends, loving relationships, good health, and something meaningful to do each day. Our job is to help them succeed.

The team at DMH is always striving to maintain the current level of services available in the system of care for Vermonters while continuing to seek opportunities that expand access to mental health services. The goal is to improve the consumer experience by increasing availability, reducing wait times, and reducing barriers to allow Vermonters and their families to receive the most appropriate care when and where they need it.

Are you passionate about ensuring quality and integrity in mental health services? We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our team in an investigative, analytical, and policy-oriented role. This position is crucial in supporting program integrity, quality control, policy development, and utilization management. Your work will guide mental health care delivery and drive improvements at both the community and departmental levels. This position may require travel.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Oversee community program reimbursement reviews.
•    Provide policy consultations to community programs, ensuring adherence to health insurance reimbursement standards.
•    Monitor provider utilization patterns and address deficiencies with quality improvement actions.
•    Author policy documents guiding agency spending, decision-making, and resource management.
•    Educate and advise community-based program staff on departmental policies and procedures.
•    Coordinate and execute audits, corrective actions, and training for regulatory compliance.

Why Join Us?

•    Impactful work that enhances mental health care delivery.
•    Collaborative environment with extensive interaction with quality, finance, programming, and health care reform teams.
•    Opportunity to shape policies and procedures that drive positive change.
•    Enjoy a hybrid work schedule that can be flexible to promote work-life balance and allow for teleworking several days a week.
•    Work under the guidance of the Director of Policy and contribute to the mission of the Agency of Human Services
