Join Our Family Services Division Leadership Team as the Director of the Centralized Intake and Emergency Services Unit.

This pivotal role serves as the leader of the "front door" to our system, ensuring the safety and well-being of children through effective management of our statewide child abuse reporting call center and emergency services program.

Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership & Strategy: Drive the implementation of statewide policies and protocols for intake assignment, and afterhours response. Collaborate with district offices to ensure effective communication and coordination of Child Safety Intervention assignment and during emergencies.
• Team Development: Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate a dedicated team of intake and emergency services professionals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
• Operational Excellence: Manage the budget and monitor the effectiveness of the unit, ensuring resources are utilized efficiently. Develop and implement a continuous quality improvement system to enhance service delivery.
• Technology & Innovation: Lead the development of continuity of operations planning (COOP) and troubleshoot technology solutions for the call center, ensuring robust and reliable service.
• Collaborative Engagement: Participate actively in Division Management Team meetings and represent intake and emergency services at Division Director's meetings, contributing to strategic decision-making and organizational growth.

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
Environmental FactorsDuties are performed largely in an office setting although field travel will be necessary, for which private means of transportation must be available. Although duties normally occur within a regular weekday schedule, evening and weekend duty will be necessary to provide necessary service and/or emergency coverage as well as regular supervision to units that cover 24/7 operations. The availability of this person to the units for support and supervision in emergency and high risk situations is a common occurrence and will require some flexibility and planning.
Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in social work or public administration and two years in a human services program; including one year of supervisory or administrative duties.
OR
Master's degree in social work or public administration and two years as a Social Worker with a child protective or juvenile services caseload.
OR
Bachelor's degree and three years in a human services program, including one year of supervisory or administrative duties.

Bachelor's degree and three years as a social worker with a child protective or juvenile services caseload.
