
Description
The Commission Team Lead works with the Commission Accounting Manager and Commission Accounting Assistant Manager to oversee the workflow of the assigned team and coaches the Commission Accountants and Commission Accounting Associates. They autonomously perform routine accounting tasks, analyze commission data and maintain electronic records. The Commission Team lead processes commission calculations, ensuring accurate and timely payments to sales personnel. The role involves collaborating with sales teams, maintaining records, and analyzing commission payments and performance.
What We're Looking For
• Accurately compute commission payouts based on established guidelines and metrics.
• Review sales data entries and resolve discrepancies in commission calculations.
• Maintain precise records of transactions and commission agreements.
• Update commission tracking systems and ensure the integrity of data.
• Understand commission structures and clarify any questions regarding commission calculations.
• Generate detailed and customized reports to analyze sales performance and commission expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards in all commission-related transactions and reporting.
• Coordinates with internal and external auditors for all commission-related inquiries.
• Set up and review FAs participating in business transition plans.
• Handles quarterly accrual of mutual fund and annuity trails.
• Coaches junior commission accountants, assisting with questions, reviewing work product, and advising on department policy and procedure.
• Works with the Commission Accounting Assistant Manager and/or Commission Accounting Manager to oversee workflow, allocate the workload among junior commission accountants, and resolve issues.
• Processes commission payments, completes paperwork, completes journal entries, complex calculations, and reconciliations.
• Acts as back up to the Commission Accounting Assistant Manager and/or Commission Accounting Manager.

Education & Experience
• Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum Required: 5+ years related experience
Licenses & Credentials
• Minimum Required: SIE Securities Industry Essentials and Series 99 - Operations Professional Exam.
Systems & Technology
• Proficient in Microsoft 365
