The Warranty Processor is responsible for communicating with manufacturers and Service Managers to review claims for equipment and/or parts to help determine which ones are covered by warranty. Once determined the Warranty Processor then enters the items into the computer, submits the claims for credit then follows through to ensure receipt of payment or credit memos.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Registers equipment for warranty coverage as required by vendor.
- Manage warranty claims of damaged or defective equipment by working with the manufacturer/supplier to process required paperwork. Continues follow up until claim is completed.
- Ensures warranty work orders have been completed correctly before filing a claim.
- Completes the documents required to process the claims, forwards them to the manufacturer/supplier.
- Ensures that the amounts claimed correspond to the criteria of the manufacturer.
- Follows up on claims to ensure parts to obtain prompt payment.
- Follows up on claims to ensure that defective parts are returned to the manufacturer in a timely manner.
- Completes sold notices to vendors.
- Keeps up-to-date on all the manufacturer's updates, PIP's, recalls and service bulletins.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Performs other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must possess basic computer knowledge and good clerical skills.
- Previous warranty and/or parts experience is preferred
- Knowledge of construction equipment is preferred
- Basic typing skills
- Must be able to communicate well with manufacturers and management teams
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent GED
- Use of a computer system to communicate, gather and analyze information is required.
- Use of Excel, Word and other MS Office programs required
