1. General job duties / types of procedures required:
The Open Heart Surgical Technologist functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing a safe environment for all age groups of surgical patients; assists the perioperative nurse with patient care; prepares and maintains supplies in the Operating Room (OR); assures that procedure preparations are based on individual patient needs including age specific requirements; and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.

3. Required skills, minimum years of experience, and/or education:
Minimum of 3 years of Open Heart experience required.
Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology REQUIRED as of 6/25/2024.
Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
Must also have experience in the following areas of surgery:
General: robotic and open procedure
Ortho: Fractures, Total Joints
ENT: pediatrics, T&A's, BMT's, parathyroid, thyroid, neck, ear, sinus procedures
Vascular: carotid, AAA, hybrid cases, open procedures
Robotics: da Vinci XI
GYN and Urology: robotic and open procedures
4. Required licensures, certificates/registrations, and/or life support certifications:
BLS - AHA or ARC required

Possibly float to West Campus if needed.
