Strong nursing skills in med pass, foley and central line care, IVs, safe transfers and ambulation, and wound care Interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team – nursing, CNAs, social work, physicians, and therapies Technological competency in EMR charting, cell phone usage (we use iPhones for communication and call lights) Preferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first. Easy-going, low drama, and good at getting along with others from all backgrounds. We like to share laughs and food! Positive attitude and flexibility – we are team-oriented and work closely with PT/OT/ST to rehab our patients. Therapy is a top priority so nursing often must flex and adjust our meds and cares. We have a great relationship with our energetic therapists. Unit Guidelines/Policies : Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines. Any additional information that would entice a worker to select your unit for their assignment: Consider items such as new equipment or technology, tenure and experience of staff, schedule options, etc. * Remember it is a very competitive market any information you can provide will help attract talent . We are a highly engaged rehab unit with a handful of new RNs and young CNAs balanced by a large portion of Seasoned RNs and charge RNs with extensive Med/Surg, ICU, rehab, and neuro rehab experience (including the night shift). We work closely with 2 rehab physicians who are always on the unit and make themselves available by cell phone to the Nursing staff day and night—they love our nursing staff and respond quickly to our needs and with great respect. The unit is freshly renovated and requesting travelers due to increasing from 21 to 27 beds in August. The staff love working here and often pick up extra shifts if we are short to support one another. They work hard to get people the schedules that work for them. There is high personal accountability for charting and quality patient care, but I would describe the culture as relaxed, supportive, fun, and no co-worker drama. While it is a rehab unit, we are In-house in a Level 1 trauma center and work closely with acute care areas. We do provide acute cares and experience acute medical events for which we have a highly supportive rapid response and stroke team. We have a great relationship with our PT/OT/ST team, who is fun, hardworking, and respectful of nursing staff! We have computers in every room, telemetry at two nurses stations, and iPhones with iMobile technology for texting physicians and therapists and answering call lights. This is a hardworking unit that will welcome you with open arms and feed you with home-cooked food at our potlucks!
