Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will support the maintenance department in keeping our facilities in excellent condition. You will perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn, ensuring that our place of business remains safe, clean, and functional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to identify maintenance issues and report them to the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness in all work areas, ensuring they are free from hazards and debris.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of equipment and spaces for special events or projects.
- Support the maintenance team in preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
- Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Assist in the preparation of maintenance reports and documentation.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or technical training in maintenance or facilities management is a plus.
- Previous experience in a maintenance role or similar environment is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and perform strenuous tasks.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods.
