Tetra Tech AMT is looking for an Air Traffic Specialist III to support the Federal Aviation Administration.


Primary job duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Facilitate/participate in regular meetings discussing new and ongoing airspace initiatives, concepts, and strategy development
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on projects/strategic planning
  • Analyze, interpret, and digest policy, regulatory guidance, and technical directives; assist FAA client with whiteboarding and concept development to support the creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), operational guidance, and other official program documents as needed
  • Provide subject matter expert (SME) consultation on air traffic control (ATC) operations, procedures, systems, and policies to FAA client
  • Serve as technical resource for ATC-related projects, analyses and decision-making efforts
  • Prepare program documents, reports, white papers, and executive summaries. 
  • Prepare materials for and giving program-related briefings and presentations.
  • Write, disseminate, and track meeting minutes and action items. 
  • Coordinate, schedule, and support meetings as necessary.
  • Review, evaluate, and provide recommendations on operational concepts, requirements, and technical documentation.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, milestones, deliverables.
  • Understand FAA client requirements and provide consultation and feedback on metrics, data analysis, process development, data requests, and tech solutioning projects

The successful candidate will have:

  • 15+ years of Air Traffic Control or air traffic management background 
  • Bachelor degree or held an FAA certificate as an Air Traffic Controller, navigator or was qualified as a
  • Navigator/Bombardier in military or held an FAA certificate as a dispatcher for an air carrier
  • Prior experience supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or have worked at the FAA.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured documentation, reports, briefings, and correspondence
  • Knowledge of and/or experience using Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) systems, data sources, and/or tools (e.g. TARGETS, IOAA, SWIM, ERAM) for research and analysis (preferred)
  • Knowledge of the systems and processes that currently support Instrument Flight Procedures (IFP) design and development is desirable
  • Experience/familiarity with FAA Orders and/or Advisory Circulars (AC) is desirable
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of industry standard office software and applications (MS Office, Teams, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, etc.)

Salary: $125,000-130,000 annually. Compensation is based on relevant experience and qualifications.
