Your Role:

Tetra Tech Inc. Disaster Recovery (TDR) is currently hiring for an Application Specialist to assist with processing applications related to debris removal from the recent tornado. The Application Specialist is responsible for reviewing application data and documentation to verify the applicant is eligible for the program and has completed all required application documentation.

This role involves coordinating with co-workers, managers, and program applicants, providing support to applicants to complete their documentation, and ensuring that applications meet program requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review applications to ensure the information is complete and the applicant has provided all required documentation.

  • Follow standard operating procedures, training materials, checklists, and other job aids to process applications.

  • Communicate directly with program applicants to provide status on their application, answer questions related to the program and collect documentation from program applicants to complete their application.

  • Communicate with program applicants in multiple formats including telephone, text, and email communication.

  • Document relevant notes of interactions with program applicants to progress their application.

  • Achieve daily processing expectations and document activities to demonstrate productivity.

  • Maintain adherence to program standard operating procedures and the program health and safety plan.

  • Communicate with supervisors for directives, work schedule, program changes, and other relevant information via email, telephone, text, and Microsoft Teams.

  • Escalate issues following standard operating procedures.

  • Use Microsoft Office applications and other software to document time worked, activities completed, applicant information, and applicant interactions.

Qualifications:

  • High school education or higher required.

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Administration, Emergency Management, or a related field preferred.

  • At least 2 years of experience in community assistance, disaster recovery, case management, or social services.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work empathetically with diverse populations.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, typically 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, with flexibility to meet project demands.

  • Work involves travel to various sites across Missouri, including potentially hazardous environments requiring strict safety compliance.

The ideal candidate will preferably have:

  • Previous experience in Right of Entry (ROE) application processing and eligibility review.

  • Flexible availability to accommodate community needs, including evenings and weekends.

This position with Tetra Tech is temporary and on an "as needed" basis and will end. It is understood that your employment is to be on an "at will" basis.
