Summary:

This position is required to support the Seismic Project Management and Geoscience Groups. The services include, but are not limited to, GIS Analysis and Mapping, as well as any specific seismic operations project management support as it pertains to imagery. One of the key roles of the GIS Analyst is to foster and maintain strong intercompany relations. Additional job duties will but are not limited to, coordination of government approvals, Private landowner permitting, water well testing, and specific seismic operations project management support such as cost tracking and HSE tracking.

Your Role:

  • Assist in the coordination of Approvals for Seismic Project Management Operations ensuring project deliverables and timelines are met.
  • Provide operational support for Seismic Project Management & external clientele including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Work with project geophysicist and Geophysical Operations Manager to design and create seismic  surveys;
    • Obtain imagery and topo information from suppliers;
    • Order and process lidar; providing preplanning assistance to clients in environmentally sensitive areas;
    • Coordinate / produce maps for seismic approval with the government; including topo, resource, imagery, trapper and landowner maps;
    • Prepare, QC, and submit all maps for preliminary submission and final plans for government Approvals;
    • Troubleshoot submission errors to the government, maintain provincial data sets for sensitive special condition areas and maintain special condition updates;
    • Assist in building field packages for all seismic operations projects;
    • Provide GIS support to other groups within the organization as required.
    • Work with project geophysicist(s) to provide georeferenced imagery and/or other value add GIS services.
  • Assist in coordination of Approvals/Permitting/Water Well Testing/GIS for Seismic Project Management Operations ensuring project deliverables and timelines are met.
  • Assist in coordination of operational support for Seismic Project Management, but not limited to, the following:
    • Assist in coordination of permit agents and water well agents
    • Assist with coordination of subcontracted field operations
    • Collaborating on Operations Reports and provide end of field operations support to clients
  • Assist in daily cost tracking and HSE tracking of active projects
  • Develop new workflows to create efficiencies with internal processes and better final product/deliverables
  • Conducts activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursues continuous professional development and maintains a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Additional duties as required

Qualifications:

  • A degree in GIS with a minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Esri software
  • Industry specific training and accreditation, i.e. Enform, is beneficial
  • Extensive knowledge of seismic operations and methods is essential
  • Knowledge of Canadian approvals processes and submission requirements is essential
  • Has experience handling different types of imagery and spatial data
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office applications is essential

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship (a copy of a valid work permit may be required).
