Summary:

 

We are seeking a full-time Highways / Civil Engineer AD with strong drainage design background to support our Highways team. We undertake a wide variety of major and challenging infrastructure projects for the private and public sector, across a range of development sectors and we seek to provide integrated solutions incorporating state of the art designs.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

We require an experienced individual of high calibre to assist in the design and detailing of highways, infrastructure and drainage works associated with a wide variety of major and challenging infrastructure projects for the private and public sector.

 

Specifically, we are seeking to strengthen our delivery capacity and require an applicant experienced in the design of residential infrastructure projects (including SuDS) with essential experience in the use of one of more of the following software packages; Civil 3d, Site 3d, PDS, Micro-Drainage and Causeway Flow.

You will design, lead and manage the delivery of development related highways and drainage schemes (S278/S38/S104/S185), for private developers as well as infrastructure schemes for local/central government.  Projects range in size from multi-million-pound highway schemes to small residential development schemes. You will work independently and proactively on technical aspects including preparing designs, specification, technical approval submissions, site supervision and will be fully conversant with DMRB, Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations, local authority, and industry design standards. There will also be the opportunity to work collaboratively with senior management on larger projects including Quality Assurance and Project Management. 

 

 

 

About You:

 

·        You are an enthusiastic engineer who likes a challenge and has aspirations to further their career.

·        You are educated to degree level or equivalent in the field of Civil Engineering and eligible for CEng CIHT/MICE.

·        You have good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently, a collaborative approach and a proven ability to deliver work on time. 

·        You have experience and bring a detailed understanding of infrastructure engineering projects specifically including drainage and general building drainage works through your proven experience. You can demonstrate your detailed design skills for Section 278/Section 38 & Section 102/104 works, including producing specifications, calculations and technical reports.  Knowledge of current and emerging technology and legislations is also required.

·        You have experience of working with Statutory Authorities and procedures.

·        You have experience of commercial management of projects and change control.

·        You are committed to encouraging good health and safety practices within the workplace and within design.

·        You are a team player displaying enthusiasm, flexibility, and versatility.

·        You have an ability to mentor, encourage and support team members.

·        You have a desire to build upon your existing experience, continuing your professional development.

·        You hold a full UK Driving License ( required for the nature of the role )

Due to the nature of the role you must be able to obtain security clearance
