The successful candidate must be able to use computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software, provide engineering drafting/design support for civil infrastructure and process piping work on Municipal, Industrial, and Commercial projects. This is a non-exempt, full-time position.
Your Role
· Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to set up and manage construction drawings
· Prepare dimensional drawings, create and/or modify base drawings
· Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes
· Create and manage electronic document file structure, naming conventions in accordance with company standards
· Work a typical set of project documents from beginning to end with professional quality output
· Work on multiple projects at the same time to successful completion
· Follow CAD standards, whether the customer's or Tetra Tech's
· Work with project teams on drawings which meet and exceed the customer's requirements (bid and submittal phase).
Qualifications
Associate's degree of completion in CAD drafting or related field from a technical trade school, plus at least two years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Experience using Autodesk Civil 3D for civil drawings or Autodesk Revit for process piping drawings and following client standards. Civil 3D capabilities include creating and manipulating 3D surfaces, creating pipe networks, creating alignments and generating profile and cross section views. For Autodesk Revit experience, knowledge linking files, setting up plan views, using view templates, and worksets is preferred.
Additional Knowledge and Abilities:
· Excellent communications skills: Interpersonal, listening, oral and written
· Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office
· Able to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications
· Familiar with design parameters related to civil site grading and sewer piping
· Knowledgeable of standard drafting practices and procedures
· Able to work with minimal supervision, exercise independent judgment
· Able to efficiently schedule and manage time
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member
· Must be able to achieve generally stated objectives and requirements
Physical Demands:
Able to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail. The work environment does not require much physical movement. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to site.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
