The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding a Civil Engineer/Project Manager to support a variety of projects in Upstate New York. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and possesses 8 to 12 years of engineering experience, particularly in stormwater management plans, civil engineering design (including grading analyses), permitting support, and project management.
While the primary focus will be managing engineering efforts, there are ample opportunities to engage in site development, local and state permitting, land use management, and natural resources tasks within Tetra Tech.

Your Role:
- Lead engineering design for renewable energy and other infrastructure projects.
- Manage client communications and foster strong relationships.
- Prepare technical reports and proposals, including developing scopes of work and cost estimates.
- Oversee project management activities, ensuring projects are completed within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Lead and coordinate with multidisciplinary consulting teams to deliver high-quality results.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (minimum).
- 8-12 years of professional experience in civil engineering and project management.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, or Illinois (preferred).
- Experience leading site plan and zoning approval processes for renewable projects at the municipal level (preferred).
- Knowledge of erosion and sediment control regulations and the approval process for renewable projects at the county and state levels.
- Expertise in stormwater quality and management, hydrology & hydraulic modeling, and applicable environmental regulations.
- Experience with stormwater infrastructure planning, design, construction, and maintenance, including low-impact development and green infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of grading, site layout, wetland impacts, traffic, utilities, and related civil/environmental engineering principles.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, BlueBeam, and other industry-standard software.
- Ability to multitask, mentor junior staff, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Compensation:
Pay commensurate with experience.
Pay Range: $95,000 - $115,000
Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position
