Your Role:
Tetra Tech Inc. is currently seeking a Deputy Director or Senior Manager- Legal Affairs & Administrative Services. Final job title will be dependent on experience and skills/qualifications.
The Deputy Director/Senior Manager will operate as a hybrid between a generalist and a legal or compliance/project management specialist. The Deputy Director/Senior Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Director in overseeing and managing all legal and compliance functions within the Disaster Recovery Business Unit while collaborating with all other departments, including contracts and finance.
This individual will grow to serve as a strategic advisor, collaborating with senior management, external counsel, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective decision-making and risk mitigation across the business unit. The Deputy Director/Senior Manager will also lead efforts to implement process improvement initiatives and contribute to resolution of high-stakes disputes as needed.
· Strategic Legal Advisory: Assist the Director in providing strategic counsel, advising on critical legal, operational, and business matters with significant implications for company performance and risk.
· Mentorship: Support education of all departments, guiding teams in the integration and implementation of legal and compliance frameworks across the business, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.
· Risk Management & Dispute Resolution: Assist the Director in leading and managing complex dispute resolution processes to ensure favorable outcomes, such as debt recovery and risk mitigation.
· Contract Lifecycle Management: Oversee the contract lifecycle process, including drafting, negotiating, and executing high-value, custom contracts. Ensure effective process improvement, management of KPIs, and compliance standards.
· Negotiations & Agreements: Lead negotiations for high-revenue contracts, new business arrangements, and technology agreements, ensuring terms are favorable and mitigate potential risks to the organization.
· Business Development: Collaborate on the preparation and review of large-scale government RFP/RFI proposals, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
· Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
· Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
· Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
· Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
· Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution preferred; active bar membership not required.Please be advised this position does not confer fiduciary duty to Tetra Tech and is a non-conventional legal career track. Otherwise, Masters degree or higher required.
· Preferred:5-7 years of progressive transactional legal experience with a strong background in contract management, legal compliance, and dispute resolution, ideally in a multi-million-dollar contract environment preferred. Experience with management of complex contractual matters highly desired.
· Strong Consideration:6-8 years of progressive management, compliance, and/or operational problem solving experience with a strong background in leading project management and resolving disputes.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage high-pressure situations and resolve complex issues.
· High level of adaptability and creativity in addressing legal and operational challenges.
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with C-suite executives, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
