We are seeking a full-time Director – Architecture, for our national architectural team based in our central London office at Angel Court. We need an experienced, strategically minded and results-driven practitioner to lead our local offer in the South-East. This client facing role is to help develop and deliver architectural and multi-disciplinary projects of varying type, size and complexity.

Project work will primarily be within the public sector, complimented by other commercial and redevelopment opportunities. The projects will generally have a strong regional focus, but there will be an expectation to work nationally and internationally for our UK Government clients. 

Responsibilities:

This role specifically is to lead, manage and develop our existing portfolio of work in South-East. You will also work closely with our team of Architectural, Urban Design and Landscape Design colleagues supporting projects across our national portfolio. Preferably you will be based in our Angel Court office with a balance of working from home and office. You will be expected to build relationships with our Design and Planning teams across the region and work with team-mates in a wide range of disciplines within Tetra Tech. The candidate will be expected to take individual responsibility for projects, manage them, and be the client's main point of contact, including financial control of a portfolio of projects. You will be expected to lead submissions both for opportunities on our existing governmental frameworks and to help us secure positions on upcoming frameworks.

Requirements:

We are looking for a keen, progressive and versatile individual with an established background in architecture. For this role we require candidates to have or be:

  • an experienced, strategically minded and results-driven practitioner and a Chartered Architect.
  • The ability to break down and solve our clients' problems.
  • experience managing and developing complex master planning, urban design or architectural solutions across a range of scales for public and private client bodies.
  • the ability to lead and coordinate large multi-discipline teams delivering complex projects across RIBA stages 1-6.
  • existing client relationships which you can introduce to Tetra Tech.
  • the ability to work at a high level employing a range of drawing, modelling and interpersonal skills to engage, influence and collaborate with cognate clients, colleagues and stakeholders on a broad range of interesting projects.
  • able to research, write and illustrate print-ready reports.
  • the ability to write fee and project bids.
  • able perform effectively at interview
  • the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of an established team. 
  • a high level of personal numeracy as you will be responsible for financial control of projects you lead

Preferred Qualifications:

You must be an Architect registered with the ARB (Architects' Registration Board).

Security clearance will be required due to the nature of our work

From time-to-time travel may be required due to the nature of the work
