The opportunity

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the successful delivery of programs, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and client expectations.
  • Drive financial discipline across program managers to oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics to ensure program objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Lead risk management efforts, including the identification and mitigation of operational and financial risks.
  • Establish robust quality assurance frameworks to ensure consistent delivery excellence.
  • Manage internal forums, communities of practice and working groups to strengthen practice, learning, effective delivery and reporting.
  • Lead negotiations and act as the principal Tetra Tech representative for key clients, including DFAT and other partners.
  • Represent Tetra Tech in high-level client, partner and stakeholder engagements to strengthen relationships.
  • Directly supervise, support, manage and mentor a team of program managers at various levels.
  • Provide tailored and targetted support and mentoring to program managers.
  • Develop, expand and manage knowledge repositories and centralised resources for program delivery.
  • Lead on the design and implementation of scalable processes to support operational efficiency and program delivery.
  • Oversee change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Identifying opportunities to apply contemporary project management principlies utilisting business systems.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement in client engagement practices, ensuring proactive issue resolution and satisfaction.

 

Selection criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Project Management, Commerce, Accounting or Business.
  • Continued commitment to postgraduate study would be advantageous (such as an MBA).
  • Professional body accreditation (such as CA/CPA) would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience and track record in leading multiple complex projects, or leading streams within large scale, multi-sector, multi-year programs.
  • Extensive leadership experience in international development program management, including strategic oversight of large, complex portfolios with DFAT.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams including fostering collaboration across geographies demonstrating exemplary people leadership.
  • Deep expertise in financial and risk management, and performance reporting, monitoring and remediation.
  • Track record of making significant contributions to strategic and operational planning and delivery.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of organisation, coordination and proactice planning.
  • Superior stakeholder relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in leadership and program delivery.
  • Resilience, agility, and ability to thrive in complex, fast-paced environments.
