Your Role:
We are seeking a Professional Engineer, licensed in one or more New England states to serve as a local civil engineering business line leader.  The successful candidate will collaborate with other Tetra Tech offices in the region, seek and acquire new business in New England, manage projects and further develop the skill set of an established office of 13 scientists and engineers. We are looking for a person who looks for new challenges pertaining to business success. •    Provide leadership in development and implementation of mid to large scale water/wastewater or environmental infrastructure or remediation projects.
•    Manage municipal and federal projects, as well as ensure compliance with state environmental requirements for states in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. 
•    Perform site specific evaluations, assessments, engineering studies, design proposals, and project execution services for projects varying in size and scope.
•    Understand client requirements, target those that will lead to successful pursuits of projects and bring clients together with Tetra Tech capabilities. 
•    Reach across and outside the company to build strategic relationships focused on breaking into new markets or major contracts.   
•    Develop and implement procedures for planning, design, and construction management to meet project objectives.
•    Assist in regulatory relations, negotiations, conducting and leading meetings, and routine reporting
•    Provide mentorship of staff to support the growth of individuals in support of successful delivery of projects.
•    Manage project financials including all aspects of budgets, costs, and contingencies.
•    Manage multiple, concurrent projects, from project development through construction completion to meet client objectives
•    Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
•    Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
•    Perform supervisory and project management duties assigned.
•    Participate in the professional community and build the Tetra Tech brand.
•    Perform within and promote industry and company safety practices, ensure work is always conducted in a safe manner and report all health and safety observations and incidents in accordance with Tetra Tech's health and safety program.
•    Additional duties as required.

This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.


 

 

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD) may account for 1-2 years of experience.
•    Possession of a professional registration in New Hampshire, Maine, or Massachusetts (i.e., Professional Engineer (PE)) is required or the ability to get comity licensure within 2 months of being hired. Additional northeastern state PE is desirable.
•    Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus.
•    40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher training is preferred. Other OSHA training (10 hour or 30-hour Construction) is desirable.
•    Develop and implement growth strategies to increase client base for a broad range of integrated environmental consulting and engineering services; 
•    Lead proposal efforts from opportunity identification to final submittal including oral interview and rate negotiation, assemble and lead teams to effectively pursue and win work, 
•    complete projects on time and within scope, budget and regulatory guidelines,
•    Proficiency delivering technical and business presentations.
•    Proven track record of successfully bringing in and executing profitable assignments for clients and building key target client accounts.
•    Minimum of 15 years of experience.
•    Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 5%.

Field work will primarily be in New England but could be anywhere based on client needs, so the ability to travel and work remotely and on weekends or extended hours (as needed) may be expected occasionally.

Language & Communication Skills: Candidates must be fluent in the English language and possess excellent verbal/written communication skills. Candidates must be able to professionally interact with clients, subcontractors, professionals, and the general public. Great presentation and writing skills are necessary for this position.

Other Skills:  Candidate must have the ability to work well in a professional and team-oriented environment, as well as independently. Candidate should possess strong organizational skills, excellent leadership skills, and be client focused. Must possess basic computer skills; the computer skills must include proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
