Tetra Tech SWW is currently seeking an Engineering Intern to work in our Diamond Bar, CA office. The ideal candidate will be within 12 to 24 months from graduation. This job may lead to full-time employment after completion of the required degree depending on the availability of full-time positions at the time of graduation. The pay scale for this position is $18-$22 an hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Your Role:
- The successful applicant must be able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week in the office during regular business hours. Hours will be flexible, as determined by management, to accommodate for school attendance.
- The primary responsibility of this position will be to support staff engineers as a junior civil designer preparing grading, drainage, road, and other miscellaneous civil design projects associated with solid waste facilities.
- Field work may be available on a limited basis, which will require walking up and down steep slopes and over uneven surfaces around heavy earthmoving equipment.
Physical Demands: The successful applicant must be able to work in an office environment sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. Limited but occasional field visits may be required to inspect construction sites or attend client meetings. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Qualifications:
- Must be working toward a degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Must be able to function well in a team within an office setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
- Basic familiarity with computer aided design programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
