Tetra Tech's commitment to hiring the best talent in the industry and helping them thrive professionally is stronger than ever. We are currently seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist Technician focused on utility scale energy generation and transmission industry. 

 

This entry-level position involves performing environmental data collection to support our environmental compliance efforts related to the installation of new transmission and distribution lines. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our environmental compliance team to oversee the environmental compliance requirements of issued permits for energy distribution systems throughout Florida.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Conduct inspections for compliance with approved Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)

·         Oversee Contractor Compliance with other issued State and Federal Permits

·         Some knowledge of Florida's ecology is helpful, but not required.

·         Majority of the work locations are on transmission corridors throughout Florida.

·         The position will utilize GPS field equipment and IPad Tablets to gather and record data. 

 

Requirements:

·         Bachelors of Science degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Studies or other related majors OR have 8 years prior experience with Environmental Compliance for linear projects.

·         Experience with wetland delineations or listed species surveys is also very helpful including Gopher Tortoises, Scrub Jays, Sand Skinks, Burrowing Owls and other species.

·         The position requires good verbal communication and coordination skills.

·         The successful applicant will self-motivated and a team player with good communication skills

·         Must be willing to work outdoors in the Florida Climate year-round.

·         Preference will be given to candidates with past experience with environmental permit compliance of linear projects.

·         A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.

·         Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
