Summary:

Tetra Tech is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Phase I Environmental Site Assessor to join our environmental consulting team. In this role, you will conduct American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) under the supervision of senior staff. You will be responsible for identifying and documenting potential environmental concerns at various commercial and industrial properties to assist clients in making informed decisions regarding real estate transactions and regulatory compliance. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and supporting transactional-based due diligence services including ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Environmental Compliance Reviews, and Health and Safety Reviews with various tasks including preparing and submitting public records requests, conducting pre-deal research, conducting site visits, correspondence, and contributing to the preparation of ESA reports and supporting documentation. Your Role:

  • Conduct ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in accordance with the latest ASTM standards.
  • Review historical and regulatory records, aerial photographs, land use records, and other resources to identify potential environmental conditions.
  • Perform on-site inspections of properties, identifying visible evidence of contamination, hazardous materials, and other environmental concerns.
  • Collect, analyze, and organize data to prepare written reports summarizing findings and potential environmental risks.
  • Assist in determining if further investigation or remediation is necessary based on the findings of the Phase I ESA.
  • Communicate with clients and regulatory agencies as needed to clarify and verify assessment details.
  • Maintain awareness of current ASTM standards, regulatory guidelines, and environmental laws related to site assessments.
  • Ability to work as part of various deal teams to facilitate, expedite, coordinate, and execute integral tasks during the lifecycle of transactional due diligence projects.
  • Have an ability to track various tasks and coordinate seamlessly with the staff to provide assistance when needed while developing skills with the purpose of achieving the title of ASTM Environmental Professional (EP).
  • Recognize the balance between client, company, and employ needs to successfully execute simple to complex projects.
  • Take ownership in projects to ensure the completion of projects on time and within budget.
  • Energize, inspire, and be a positive presence with team members, management, regulators, and client representatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a science-related field.
  • Basic knowledge of ASTM Phase I ESA standards and environmental regulations.
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Willingness to travel to various sites and conduct fieldwork as needed (approx. 50% of travel or more required).
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions. 

 

Target salary range:  $24.00 to $27.00 an hour. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
