Your Role
The selected candidate will support environmental projects in the Rocky Mountain region of the U.S.  You will:

•    Support and lead field work for Federal and Private clients.  
•    Provide technical support to a long-term U.S. Environmental Protection Agency contract in the areas of site investigation, Brownfields redevelopment, removal assessment, data management, and emergency response. 
•    Work includes a broad range of site types from abandoned properties, to mine sites, to industrial/commercial facilities, orphaned wells, to spills - with work locations across Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. 
•    Project Management overseeing and conducting multi-media sampling, field audits and inspections, use of a range of field monitoring equipment, organizing and reviewing data, preparing reports and maps, file reviews, collection of air monitoring data, training and exercise support, contractor oversight, task and project management, and related services. 
•    Perform tasks across multiple disciplines to bring about successful project completion
•    Demonstrate full knowledge of each project's status and goals
•    Emergency response work includes mobilizing to spill or response sites to work with EPA and other parties to support air monitoring, sampling, communications support, and data management.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 - 10 years relevant experience in environmental consulting. You will preferably have experience with some or all of the following: 
•    Hydrogeological investigations
•    Hazardous materials surveys (including asbestos, lead-based paint)
•    Analytical data using spreadsheets and databases
•    Conceptual remedial action plans and remedial cost estimates
•    Phase I ESAs to ASTM or higher standards
•    Phase II ESAs

You should also have / be: 
•    Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, analyze, and present technical material. 
•    Excellent writing skills that include the ability to read and assimilate technical and scientific information.  
•    Ability to learn quickly and multi-task.  
•    Highly motivated, customer focused
•    Work well in a team environment.
•    Ability to work without supervision and under direct on-site supervision.
•    Ability to manage a heavy workload
•    Able to travel and be on-call as needed.  
•    Excellent communication, client interaction, and organizational skills.  
•    Strong educational and work foundation 
•    Mastery with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) is strongly desired.  

In addition, the following is required.
•    This position requires you to drive on a regular basis.  Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
•    Criminal background check


Degree / Certifications
•    B.S./B.A. in Geology, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Geography or other related field.
•    40-hour OSHA HAWOPER training preferred. 
•    Completion of ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 training preferred. 

Work Environment
This position requires potential travel to support environmental emergency response situations throughout the Mountain Region, on short notice, where the applicant will be a part of field teams and provide technical support to EPA personnel at a range of site investigation and response sites.  You must be able to:
•    Lift and carrying objects up to 50 lbs.  
•    Wear and work in an air purifying respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).  
•    Work periodic long days, including 12+ hours, especially when in the field.
•    The position requires periodic on-call support (up to one week per month).  The ability to respond quickly, within a mandatory response time, is required. 
•    Drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

The Salary Range for this position is $70,000 - $80,500, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
