Responsibilities:

 We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in subsurface investigations, data analysis, and data visualization. Prior experience with environmental and geologic data visualization software including GIS is required and experience with Earth Volumetric Studio (EVS) or Leapfrog, is preferred. This position involves planning environmental assessments, performing fieldwork, and providing geologic and hydrogeologic technical support for various projects, including CERLCA investigations and environmental site assessments.
•    Work as a member of teams conducting hands-on multi-media environmental sampling, including surface and subsurface soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, soil vapor, indoor air, etc.
•    Record and compile data into coherent products for customer use, interpret and explain findings to project teams.
•    Interpret data patterns and trends, compare to regulatory standards, and assist in the development of recommendations for actions based on regulatory constraints. 
•    Prepare and assist preparation of written documents, sampling and analysis plans, data summary reports, and technical evaluations.
•    The candidate must be proficient with data analysis, modeling, and visualization using GIS and EVS or similar software.
•    Assume supporting roles in proposals and project management tasks based on capabilities and experience.
•    Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
•    Complete other duties as they may be assigned to support investigation and remediation projects.

 Qualifications:

•    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
•    Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in subsurface investigations and environmental assessments.
•    Proficiency in GIS software (ESRI products) and data analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, ProUCL, R).
•    Relevant certifications (e.g., Professional Geologist registration, HAZWOPER training) are advantageous.
•    Experience with field sampling techniques, including groundwater, soil, surface water, and air sampling.
•    Strong analytical skills and experience in data management and QA/QC processes.
•    Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. 
•    Experience in field sampling techniques and QA/QC procedures.
•    Familiarity with environmental regulations (OSHA, HAZWOPER).
•    HAZWOPER certification and completion of the required annual 8-hour refresher training.
•    Familiarity with EQuIS Professional and OpenGround software preferred.
•    Knowledge of ASTM standards related to soil characterization and environmental monitoring is preferred.
•    Willingness and ability to travel as needed, up to 75%.

This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.

•    Ability to perform field sampling, including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling, which may involve bending, kneeling, and lifting equipment or samples weighing up to 50 pounds.
•    Conduct low flow monitoring well sampling and slug tests, requiring the use of specialized equipment and tools that may be cumbersome.
2.    Mobility:
•    Capability to traverse various terrains, including uneven ground, wetlands, and construction sites, which may require climbing, walking long distances, and navigating obstacles.
•    Ability to move quickly and efficiently between sampling locations during field investigations.
3.    Lifting and Carrying:
•    Must be able to lift and carry sampling equipment, field supplies, and materials, demonstrating physical strength and endurance.
•    Handling of heavy geological tools and equipment, requiring manual dexterity and coordination.
4.    Visual and Auditory Acuity:
•    Must have the ability to visually inspect geological samples and assess site conditions, requiring keen observation skills.
•    Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, necessitating good hearing and verbal communication skills.
5.    Work Positioning:
•    Capability to maintain various positions (standing, crouching, kneeling) for extended periods during field sampling and monitoring activities.
•    Ability to perform tasks that may require reaching overhead or working at ground level.
6.    Technical and Computer Work:
•    Capacity to perform data analysis and technical writing, which may involve prolonged periods of sitting and using computers.
•    Proficiency in using GIS software and data management tools, requiring repetitive hand and wrist movements.

•    Work closely with team members, stakeholders, and clients in both field and office settings, necessitating effective communication, teamwork, and coordination of activities.
6.    Variable Conditions:
•    Adaptability to varying work conditions, including the need to shift between fieldwork and office-based tasks, such as data analysis, report writing, and GIS mapping.
7.    Safety and Compliance:
•    Commitment to following safety regulations and protocols, including participation in safety training and emergency response drills as required.

•    Proficiency in technical writing for reports and field notes.
•    Strong verbal communication abilities to convey geological and hydrogeological concepts.
•    Effective collaboration and interpersonal communication in multidisciplinary settings.
•    Adaptability in communication style based on the audience.
•    Proficiency in the English Language is required.
