The Opportunity

  • Shor-term adviser role with up to 30 input days until 30 March 2026
  • Location: Remote with travel to travel to PNG

Position Overview

The Grants Specialist is responsible for reviewing the different grant modalities offered throughout Australia Awards; and providing guidance and advice on the development of an efficient and effective new grants management system that captures the full grants lifecycle stages: application, contracting, financial management, project management, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

The Grants Specialist will complete the following:

  • Conduct a comprehensive consultation and review of existing grant documentation, workflows, and processes
  • Provide a report that identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks and potential non compliance in current practices, including recommendations for addressing these items
  • Develop new framework and grants information system, which includes templates and guidelines

Total input days up to 30 days with travel to PNG for up to 5 days for consultation, and remaining inputs remotely

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in a related field such as public administration, management, international development, or business administration
  • Demonstrated experience (5+ years desirable) at a senior level in development of grant frameworks, and the implementation and management of grants in an international development context
