About the role 

We have a busy project line up right across our national Workplace Health and Safety team and we're growing the team to keep up! 

  
You'll undertake hazmat and occupational hygiene site inspections; engage with clients and contractors, prepare technical reports and managing projects end-to-end. The role will provide you with a solid and expansive foundation for your technical career. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Hazardous materials/asbestos assessments and inspections

  • Occupational hygiene monitoring and asbestos fibre counting

  • Managing field programs for a range of Built Environment investigations

  • Observing, guiding, and recording site remediation activities

  • Data management, interpretation, and quality assurance/quality control

  • Assisting with writing proposals, project correspondence and technical reports



About you 

To thrive in the role, you'll need: 

  • Qualifications in related science disciplines and/or occupational hygiene  

  • Minimum 5 years' professional experience in Hazardous Materials or Occupational Hygiene 

  • Strong project management skills with a focus on quality and delivery

  • Great communication, client relationship and teamwork skills 

  • The ability to travel to regional and country sites as required 

  • A commitment to safe, environmentally responsible project delivery

  • Hold a full Australian driver's license

  • Be an Australian permanent resident or citizen (required for the Department of Defence)

Licensed Asbestos Assessor accreditation or Australian Institute of Occupational Hygiene provisional membership (or working towards) will be an advantage. 

This role will include some remote work within NT including shifts away from home.
