Your Role:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Hazardous Site Assessor to join our environmental consulting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating potentially contaminated sites, conducting risk assessments, and providing recommendations for remediation in compliance with Missouri state regulations and federal environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct site inspections and environmental assessments of potentially hazardous sites, including former industrial, manufacturing, and waste disposal locations.
Collect and analyze soil, water, and air samples to determine contamination levels.
Evaluate environmental risks and hazards associated with site contamination.
Prepare detailed site assessment reports, including findings, risk evaluations, and remediation recommendations.
Ensure compliance with Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MoDNR) regulations and EPA standards.
Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors to develop effective site remediation plans.
Stay current with industry best practices, environmental regulations, and hazardous materials handling.
Assist in the preparation of permit applications and environmental impact assessments as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, or related field.
Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Registered Environmental Manager (REM), or Missouri Professional Geologist license) preferred.
Minimum of 3 years experience in environmental site assessments or hazardous waste management.
Knowledge of Missouri environmental laws and regulations, including MoDNR policies.
Experience with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Proficiency with environmental sampling equipment and data analysis software.
Willingness to travel to various sites across Missouri.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Capability to navigate uneven terrain and potentially hazardous environments.
This position with Tetra Tech is temporary and on an "as needed" basis and will end. It is understood that your employment is to be on an "at will" basis.
