Your Role:
- This position will have field and non-field related responsibilities.
- Position requires approximately 25-50 percent field work and/or travel.
- Typical tasks will include field work planning and preparation, site audits, collection and proper documentation of soil and groundwater samples to define the nature and extent of soil and groundwater contamination, drilling (GeoProbe) and monitoring well installation oversight, and remedial system permitting, design and regulatory reporting.
- Responsibilities will also include data entry in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets or Access databases, desktop research via internet, and documentation of field activities in letters/reports.
Qualifications:
- BS in Geology, Geological Sciences, Environmental Science or related field (geophysics, geochemistry, hydrogeology, earth science, environmental science or soil science).
- 3-5 years of previous experience.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is required.
- Attention to detail and strong written/oral communication skill sets required.
- Should have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- AutoCAD and GIS skills a plus.
- Values the importance of compliance with Health and Safety procedures and policies.
- Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Possesses strong decision-making skills and enjoys working out of the office on a job site.
- Possess practical mechanical ability to adapt to the various challenges presented by field work.
- The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform field work, including light lifting and maneuvering of equipment, and perform the field work in a range of weather conditions. You must also be able to travel to project sites, as needed (approx. 25%-50% of travel required).
- A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Target salary range: $60,000 to $70,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
