We are adding experienced leaders to serve as Power and Utility Sales Leaders on a national basis to grow our power and energy practice and support a variety of projects from concept to completion in a dynamic consulting environment. Position Summary:

The Power and Utility Sales Leader catalyzes and accelerates the identification and award of new work in the rapidly expanding transmission, power and energy market. This sales role combines business development, client relationship expansion, market intelligence, and technical credibility to create and win new bidding opportunities across our national power and energy practice. The individual will work closely with Tetra Tech growth initiative and operations leaders to prospect, pursue, and convert opportunities while providing industry intelligence and expanding relationships within the power sector. Our ideal candidates will have existing client relationships and a proven track record of winning work within the power and energy market.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead business development activities to identify, qualify, and win new clients and projects in the power and utility sector.
  • Generate new relationships with utilities, power developers, and other energy stakeholders; nurture and expand existing accounts.
  • Create, shape, and prioritize bidding opportunities; take ownership of proposal pursuits and improve proposal success rates.
  • Collaborate with account managers, regional leads, and operations to assemble multidisciplinary project teams and deliver compelling technical and commercial proposals.
  • Provide leadership to validate approaches, cost estimates, and execution plans.
  • Provide timely market and industry intelligence (funding and market drivers, regulatory trends, client priorities, competitor activity) to inform strategy and new service-area development.
  • Be a connector, sponsor and represent growth initiatives internally and externally; act as a bridge between initiative leaders and operating units to align pursuits with strategic objectives.
  • Lead client marketing activities: presentations, trade shows, RFP/RFI responses, capability materials, and client meetings.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.

 

Success Measures:

  • Number and quality of new client relationships established. (Adds new relationships.)
  • Pipeline growth: qualified opportunities created and advanced into proposals.
  • Expansion of existing accounts by adding new geographies or services
  • Win rate and revenue awarded from pursued opportunities.
  • Influence on practice strategy through actionable market intelligence and new service offerings.
  • Cross-functional teaming and successful handoff to delivery/operations when projects are awarded.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required (engineering, environmental sciences, planning, business, or related field preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in power, utility, transmission, energy, or related infrastructure markets
  • Demonstrated success in enterprise business development, account management, and consultative solution selling
  • Existing, demonstrable client relationships within the power and energy market
  • Proven track record of winning new work
  • Working knowledge of the power infrastructure lifecycle, including planning, feasibility, permitting, design, and construction
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate, influence, and build alignment across internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset with ability to translate market intelligence into growth opportunities
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform under pressure

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Experience supporting transmission and utility-scale energy projects
  • Experience shaping new service offerings or growth initiatives

 

Travel Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, as required

 

Work Environment:

  • Remote, hybrid, or office-based depending on location

  • Frequent client engagement and travel

Compensation:

Pay commensurate with experience.

Pay Range: $150,000 – $300,000 annually

 

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
