Your Role:

 

We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator in our Mississauga, ON office. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Project Support person that will provide day-to-day support activities to the Project Manager. Projects are initiated by a senior higher-level Project Manager or assistant Project Manager and are assigned to this level to plan, execute and close. Work is informally reviewed at regular intervals or at project key milestones. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, municipalities, and utility companies.
  • Ensure timely submission and follow-up on permit applications.
  • Track permit statuses and maintain accurate records of approvals, modifications, and conditions.
  • Prepare, review, and organize all required documentation for permit applications.
  • Ensure engineering design packages comply with regulatory and permitting requirements.
  • Maintain organized records of permits, correspondence, and related documents.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to gather necessary information for permitting.
  • Address inquiries or concerns from regulatory bodies during the permitting process.
  • Provide regular updates on permitting progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for improvement in permitting workflows and propose solutions.
  • Stay updated on changes in permitting regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Becomes completely familiar with all project contractual documents.
  • Obtains bids from subcontractors and coordinates project cost estimates.
  • Reviews plans and procedures periodically to recommend changes as necessary
  • Monitors progress of work assignments, coordinates project changes; updates project schedules and budgets as necessary based upon input from the project manager.
  • Executes project in compliance with Tetra Tech PM/QMS procedures as identified in the Project Life Cycle.
  • Effective in verbal and written communication with team and client representatives

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Other professional qualifications will be considered with relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination, permitting, or a related role.
  • Familiarity with engineering design for distribution networks is an asset.
  • Experienced in the use of MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Effective communication, organization and presentation skills.

 

Additional Information

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.) 

If you are considered for the position, clearance on all applicable background checks (which may include criminal, identity, educational and security) and professional reference checks is required. Some Tetra Tech positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law. These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.
