The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is currently seeking a motivated Senior Engineer / Project Manager to join our high-performing team to continue providing top-of-the-line client services. The Senior Engineer / Project Manager will be part of a select team of senior project managers and leaders in Tetra Tech's Environmental Consulting Services unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing innovative, high-end, and sought-after solutions for both our government and private clients that provide the basis to grow our environmental and engineering practice. The selected candidate will work with group leaders and market sector leads to execute projects and grow client services using sound business development and project management principals. Position responsibilities also include proposal preparation, project management, surface water related modeling and designs, general civil engineering experience including large earthwork grading, road, and drainage design, report writing, bid package preparation, and contractor management. The successful candidate will work across natural and anthropologic-impacted systems in a diversity of market sectors, including mining, industrial, and public utilities. This position will offer hybrid working opportunities, but the candidate must reside within 30 miles of the local Tucson, AZ office.

Essential Job Functions:
We are seeking an energetic individual interested in pursuing and supporting a variety of challenging projects. The successful candidate will be asked to take on varying levels of responsibility on projects ranging from field investigations, modeling evaluations, design and report preparation. The Civil Engineer will have the opportunity to lead as a Project Manager on a variety of projects including mine infrastructure developments, mine closure, water resources, and contaminated site remediation. Market sectors the Civil Engineer will work with may include state and Federal funded watershed resiliency and impact mitigation, military facility, mining, oil and natural gas, commercial development, environmental cleanup, and industrial projects.
Rapidly integrate yourself into Tetra Tech to understand and leverage Tetra Tech's diverse resources and service offerings in your associated practice area(s). Collaborate with operations and technical focused team members to advance business development, program and project implementation, and practice area strategies and goals. Work with operational leadership to define your key technical practice areas, client pursuits, and group and revenue growth goals.
Provide senior leadership support to Tetra Tech's environmental practice focusing on your area of expertise. Leadership support includes a focus on identifying resources needed to reach your practice area goals, developing business strategies, client engagement, opportunity identification and pursuit, operational support, and Project Management.

Other duties will include:
Site reconnaissance and on-site evaluation of various mining, commercial, government, and industrial sites.
Variety of water related modeling including hydrological and hydraulic, water balance, and groundwater.
Engineering design development.
Preparation of reports and technical memorandums. Development of engineering cost estimates. Development of bid specifications and contract documents.
Direction of staff conducting construction oversight. Environmental data compilation, review, and evaluation.
Strong problem solving, time management, and written and verbal communication skills are required.
Required Qualifications:
B.S. degree in civil engineering or a related field.
15-20 years of civil engineering work experience.
Knowledge of regulations and regulatory agencies in Arizona and surrounding states is required.
Arizona PE registration.
Education and career interests should be related to one or more of the following areas of civil engineering: storm water management, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, BMP design and construction, channel stabilization and erosion control, cost estimation, environmental regulations, remediation, heavy earthwork construction, nutrient/metals loading and general water quality.
Experience should include civil engineering, hydrologic modeling, hydraulic analysis, and grading and drainage.
Network of clients and long-standing, established industry relationships.
Ability to delegate project and operation tasks to more junior team members to effectively utilize candidate's strengths is essential.
Demonstrated experience in managing projects with strong profitability.
Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated ability developing and delivering effective presentations to customers and management.
A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications:
MSHA and/or OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred, or ability to acquire.
Proficiency in hydrologic modeling, hydraulic analysis, and civil design programs such as HEC, AutoCAD/Civil3D, SWMM, HY-8, etc. desired.
Experience with business development and marketing are also considered a valuable asset but are not the focus of this role.
Ability to attend seminars and conferences in order to expand technical background, meet with existing clients and potential new clients on behalf of Tetra Tech.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Frequent periods of time sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer. Occasional periods of time walking, lifting, and bending.
Ability to walk across variable terrain, including uneven ground, in all weather conditions (hot/cold temperatures, loud noises, heavy equipment, etc.) for occasional field oversight.
Ability to travel periodically between the office and field sites to help oversee and verify field work (approx. 15% of travel required).
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
This position is based out of the Tucson office with the potential of a hybrid work schedule, but the candidate must reside within 30 miles of the local Tucson office. This arrangement is subject to review and may change at the company's discretion.
Field work/oversight will include work to be performed outside, as a result may include occasional work in various environmental factors (weather, altitude, terrain, noise, etc.). This can include remaining stationary for long periods of time, walking, bending, lifting, and sitting for site assessments, site walks, and other field oversight activities.
Office work will include extended periods sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer
Additional Information:
Full-time, Monday through Friday work schedule (40 hours). Occasionally extended hours may be required based on project and/or client needs.
Work will be performed in an office and field setting.
