About the Role
The Trainee Management Accountant is a front office finance role reporting to the Management Accountant within a busy but friendly and established Management Accounts team, covering a range of management accounting functions.
A flexible working pattern and attitude is required to meet the demands of the business at key dates in the financial calendar.
The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining such items as bank accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, reporting, as well as routine and adhoc pieces of financial analysis.
A key aspect of the role will be the development of positive working relationships with other teams such as credit control, accounts payable, and project finance.
The role will include study support towards a relevant accountancy qualification.
Role Responsibilities
- Daily/weekly/monthly end-to-end bank reconciliations
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of monthly journal postings
- Preparation of monthly cost analysis for recharges to projects and overheads
- Raising monthly manual recharge invoices
- Support with internal management reporting
- Support with the monthly financial close process
- Actively seek to build, implement, and improve efficiencies in processes
- Provide support during internal and external audits
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
Skills and Experience
- Confident using Excel
- Experience of using computerised financial systems and software
- Resourceful, self-motivated, dependable, efficient and detail oriented
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- A passion and willingness to learn
Desirable
- Experience within a finance capacity
- Experience in a similar industry
- Experience with Oracle accounting systems
