Job Details
• Post op cardiac catheterization patients or overflow cardiac observation bed patients from the ED.

Job Requirements
• BLS, ACLS
• Bi-Pap, C-Pap, telemetry, critical drips, Post Cardiac Cath experience preferred, two to three years intermediate experience preferred. Travel experience is required.
• Experience in titrating Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone, Lose dose Dopamine

Schedule Information
• 7A to 7P or 7P to 7A
• The unit will be open Sunday through Saturday and holidays.
• Rotational holiday requirement
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating will be required to Med-Surg units as needed

Unit Specific Information
• Unit: Thomas Memorial Hospital - CVU
• # of beds: 12
• Ratios: 1 nurse to 4 to 6 patients
• Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Overflow observation bed patients from the ED or post op cardiac catheterization patients.

Additional Details
• ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA); CVU is a unit for post Cardiac Cath patients after they have been recovered by the Cath Lab staff. This unit may also take cardiac observation patients from the ED.
• House Supervisor 24/7; A RN will be assigned to charge duties. This could possibly be a traveler.
• Yes, one PCT (C.N.A) for 12 patients; however, the nurses assist with general care and unit clerk duties when indicated
• C-Pap, Bi-Pap, High flow O2
• Bedside telemetry and central telemetry. RNs are required to read strips.
