Description
What will you do?
- This individual will serve as a leader and subject matter expert in the areas of coding, documentation and related compliance for the Thompson Health Hospitalist, OB/GYN and General Surgery programs.
- Provides impromptu reviews and formal audits on medical record documentation and coding for employed Thompson practice providers, nurses and hospitalists.
- Enhances staff's ability to perform duties with a clear understanding of legal responsibilities and limitations.
- Incumbent will also be responsible to identifying areas in need of improvement, identifying trends, benchmarking, creating action plans, educating clinical staff and monitoring to ensure success.
- Responsibilities also include reporting of findings to management and the Compliance Committee and reviewing results with applicable individuals in one-on-one, small and large group sessions.
- Working with providers on a daily, real-time basis for coding and documentation questions is integral to position.
- Position requires incumbent to be available via phone as well as to be available on the hospital floors.
- This individual will also code specific services/programs as determined by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- CPC required, CPC-H preferred
EDUCATION
- Associates required; Bachelors preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Preferred Experience: 3- 5 years of relevant experience including compliance/coding/consulting experience; outpatient or inpatient coding with evidence of progressive increased job responsibility.
- Billing experience preferred.
- Training preparation and public speaking
- Electronic Medical Record experience required
- Highly organized and detail oriented
Starting Pay: $58,500 - $65,000
Pay Range: Based on experience
