The Tom Wood Group in Indianapolis, Indiana, is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team.  We are in the process of expanding our HR team to better support our diverse businesses and ever-growing employee population. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of payroll processes and regulations. They will excel at maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance, and providing exceptional support to employees. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Process biweekly payroll & supplemental payrolls for more than 1,000 employees
• Process all payroll reporting after each transmittal
• Send out biweekly and supplemental payroll reports for various store locations
• Follow up with management teams on time & attendance functions as well as time off approvals on a weekly basis
• Administer garnishments and child support administration
• ADP reporting functions for Executive management, GM, Office Managers, and others
• Verification of new hire information in ADP system
• New hire reporting to the applicable states
• Handle termination paperwork and maintain terminated employee files
• Other HR duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• 3– 5 years of payroll experience – prefer experience with ADP WorkforceNow
• Associates/undergraduate degree in HR, Business, Accounting or equivalent work experience in payroll area.
• Ability to partner across organizations including Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, IT, Senior Managers, and Employees. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
• A high level of confidentiality/discretion is required.
• MUST have a valid driver's license with a clean record
